Mission
To accomplish our mission of improving on the recorder, being prepared for our Spring Concert, and writing our composition for recorder, we have to complete 10 tasks. These tasks will help us to compose our piece for recorder and help us to improve our playing skills on the recorder. You will find that you spend quite a bit of time on Task 1 and Task 2 exploring different songs for the recorder. It is important to do this so that you will have ideas for your composition. Be sure to print out your Practice Log so that you can start using this chart while you play your songs. Click on the pictures to follow links to other sites.

Task 4 Begin Composition
![Picture](/uploads/6/9/7/7/6977697/3045974.jpg)
Start by "playing around" with B, A, G - improvising on these notes that come out well. Extend your range if you want to, either lower, higher or both. Keep the "music patterns" that you like to play and listen to, "throw out" the ones you don't like. When you have some ideas that you like, print off the Composer Work Sheet and write them down.
Task 5 Print Out Composition Work Sheet

Print out as many sheets as you need to complete your song. Remember that one song will be chosen to represent your class on the Spring Concert -maybe it will be yours! Be sure that you can play your own song that you write.
