3rd, 4th and 5th Graders will begin this year with a Music Unit based on African Drumming. We will learn about different instruments and styles of playing. Also, we will be learning several songs from Liberia, Ghana and the United States while we learn to drum with our partners and the full class.

KAGAN STRUCTURES
All grades will benefit from using some new strategies this year. We have used Rally Robin and Timed Pair Share to get to know each other in the music room and to learn how to work together as a team. We are building our community of learners where each person is respected and valued.
HOW CAN PARENTS HELP?
Encourage your child to share with you what they have learned in music class. Ask them to teach you how to sing our songs.
